The ACCS is honored to have Dr. Robert George join us as our guest at the 2017 Repairing the Ruins conference. Dr. George will speak on “Constitutional Structures and Moral Virtue.”
Called “The Conservative-Christian Big Thinker” by the New York Times, Dr. George is senior fellow of the Witherspoon Institute, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal by George W. Bush, McCormick Professor of jurisprudence at Princeton University, and author of more than 15 books. Dr. George also drafted the Manhattan Declaration, a major achievement with Chuck Colson and other evangelicals on the right to live out our faith.
Dr. George has been outspoken on natural law, culture, virtue, and the importance of a cultural renewal. “In the American culture wars, George wants to redraw the lines” explains David Kirkpatrick of the New York Times.
A graduate of Swarthmore College, he holds J.D. and M.T.S. degrees from Harvard University and the degree of D. Phil. from Oxford University. In November of 2016, he will receive the degrees of B.C.L. and D.C.L. from Oxford. We have asked Dr. George to talk about the importance of cultivated loves and virtue in culture.
